To understand the following dumb Realtor phone call you have to know something about lockboxes.

A lockbox is a secured electronic box that holds a key to a house for sale.  To open it you need a lockbox key.

A lockbox key is a simple keypad that you punch a PIN in, point at the lockbox, and the lockbox opens.  If it set up correctly, the lockbox / lockbox key will email you so you know who enters the property, and when.  Kate was worried that the lockbox below was broken, because it never emailed us that someone went in.

Now, a lockbox and lockbox key are about as difficult to use as the remote control for a 1998 Zenith 19-inch television.  That is to say, your average second grader could do it after about 30 seconds of training.

In the conversation below Kate could actually hear the agent fumbling with the lockbox.  Why the agent said what she said is her own private mystery.  If she were a second grader it might be understandable, as second graders sometimes do strange things.  If you work with adults most of the time, as I do, you sometimes wish you were working with second graders as it would be easier.
