I actually wrote the book on real estate.

In the Spring of 2001 I was looking for a house. I was looking online and I saw an ad for real estate school ($300). Since I didn't know anything about real estate or houses I figured it would be money well spent. I took the class and it looked like fun, so I got my real estate license and began this most amazing adventure.

In 2005 I got my brokers license, helped run the company I was with for a few years, and then in 2009 I, along with my two partners Kate and Ron, opened our own company, St. Augustine Team Realty.

As a small startup in the heart of the great recession we needed a web presence. I learned how to build websites, and as part of that I started a company blog called "The St Aug Blog." In 2014 I cobbled all those posts together, updated them, added a bunch of new stuff (even after the book had been edited ... because the law changed) and, voila!, the book How To Buy a House and Not Lose Sex: Find the Best House, Make the Best Offer, and Keep Your Love Life! was born.

The title comes from my experiences working with first-time buyers, who routinely lowball or otherwise blow their first offer, and upset their spouse or significant other so much they get cut off cold. This really happens.

I am really, really good at what I do. These past 12 months I've measured my sales time in days and sometimes even hours on most of my homes. That's not normal for real estate. Typically things take longer. But maybe experience counts for something after all.

So in that vein, here's why you need me on your side:

  • Big Brother of the Year 2005.
  • Since 2005 I've donated a portion of my gross commission to charity, and I make a donation to a tree planting or habitat restoring organization with every sale.
Education and Previous Experience

I have a B.A. in Journalism from The Ohio State University. As a Realtor I have taken numerous continuing education and sales courses through my local boards, the Florida Real Estate Institute, the Bert Rodgers Institute, Mark Leader Sales Courses, JTS Coaching Advisors, and Integrity Coaching Systems.



I am happily married with two wonderful children. I even used to race bikes. Life isn't perfect, but you can see it from here.
