ST. AUGUSTINE TEAM SPONSORS IN THE THINK PINK IN OCTOBER MOTORCYCLE RUN
St. Augustine Team Realty helped sponsor the recent Think Pink In October motorcycle run to benefit Unity Outreach, a local organization that promotes breast cancer awareness.
St. Augustine Team co-founder Ron Barry helped organize this year’s police escorted, non-stop, two hour ride.
The run staged at the St. Johns County fairgrounds where riders were treated to a free breakfast before heading out. Upon returning the riders were treated to lunch and opportunities to raise more money with raffles, a silent auction, and 26 local vendors, some of who were donating a portion of their sales to Unity Outreach.
“I estimate we had about 400 people attend and over 200 motorcycles on the actual ride,” Barry said. “It was such a good ride, we had so many motorcycles that when we were going up over the 312 bridge it looked like ‘motorcycles forever.’ Since the ride was police escorted your feet never touched the ground for the entire two hours.”
Monica Nunchuck of St. Augustine Team also helped out by donating a bottle of wine to the raffle.
According to its website Unity Outreach was founded after the death of St. Augustine’s Judee Owens at age 31. “Due to the realization that there was a need for women to be more aware of the impotrance of their physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Our efforts are to prevent the loss of another loved one to this awful disease.”
